Wedding suit guide

From first consultation to the wedding day

A wedding puts several gentlemen in the same photographs — the groom, his groomsmen, both fathers. Mon Amie styles the whole party so everyone looks coordinated while the groom still stands apart.

Packages

The centre of the day

The groom

  • A two- or three-piece suit cut to your wedding concept
  • Option of a second suit for the evening reception or the family ceremony
  • Made-to-measure shirt, tie or bow tie, pocket square and cufflinks to match
  • Measurements kept on file for life

Coordinated, never upstaging

Groomsmen

  • The same tone as the groom, or a shade lighter
  • Accessories matched to the bride's or bridesmaids' colours
  • Made-to-measure or rental, depending on the group's budget
  • Group measuring at a showroom, at home or at the office

Elegant and fitting the role

Fathers of the couple

  • Deep tones: navy, charcoal, dark brown
  • A comfortable cut for a long day of ceremonies
  • A three-piece, or a jacket with contrast trousers
  • Ties and pocket squares coordinated with the family

Pricing depends on the number of people and the cloths chosen, following Mon Amie's standard price list.

02

Coordinated accessories

  • A bow tie for evening receptions and tuxedos; a necktie for daytime and family ceremonies
  • A pocket square that picks up a colour from the flowers or the bridesmaids' dresses
  • Cufflinks and a boutonnière — the groom's own finishing touch
  • A white shirt, with collar and cuffs chosen for the suit or tuxedo
  • Black polished shoes with a tuxedo; brown or black with a coloured suit
  • Your names or wedding date embroidered inside the jacket — a private keepsake

Choosing colour by concept and venue

The right colour depends on the time of day, the venue and the wedding's palette — the bride's dress included. Suggestions by setting:

Evening reception at a hotel or venue

A black or midnight-navy tuxedo with satin lapels and a black bow tie. Under warm lighting, dark tones look rich and deep.

Family ceremony and procession

Navy, charcoal or warm beige; a burgundy or gold tie suits the traditional setting. Avoid very bright colours or overly fashion-forward cuts.

Daytime garden or outdoor party

Light grey, pale blue, beige or cream in a light, breathable cloth. In the heat, a waistcoat can stand in for the jacket at the party.

Beach wedding

Beige, cream, ivory or pale blue in cotton or a light wool blend. Skip the tie and keep trousers just grazing the ankle.

Church or formal daytime ceremony

Charcoal, navy or black; a three-piece adds a sense of occasion.

Bring photos of the dress, the invitation and the décor palette to your consultation so your stylist can match colours precisely.

Timeline: first consultation to the wedding day

A made-to-measure suit takes 3–10 days depending on your requirements, and can be rushed in 24 hours. A wedding suit needs extra time for the fitting, adjustments and coordinating the whole party — so book early, ideally three to four weeks before the wedding (or before your pre-wedding photo shoot, if that comes first).

  1. 3–4 weeks before

    Consultation & measuring

Settle the concept, colour, lapel and cloth; we measure the groom and anyone joining him. Payment: 50% upfront, the balance on collection.

  2. 1–2 weeks before

    Fitting

Usually one fitting — or none, as you prefer. You try everything together — shirt, shoes, accessories — so the tailor can refine the shoulders, waist, sleeves and trouser length; the groomsmen fit at the same time to check the group looks right.

  3. About a week before

    Collection

A last check, the balance paid and care instructions handed over. A few days' margin leaves room for any small tweaks.

  4. After the wedding

    Warranty

3-year free warranty, and your measurements stay on file for future occasions.

Wedding coming up fast? Rush orders carry no extra charge. Only in exceptional emergencies, when our tailors must work overtime to meet your deadline, a 10–25% surcharge applies — your stylist will confirm it before accepting the order.

Questions

Should the bride come along?

It isn't required, but having her there — or photos of the dress — helps your stylist match colours more precisely.

What if the groomsmen live elsewhere?

Groomsmen abroad can be measured over video with our Online Tailoring service; anywhere in Vietnam — Ho Chi Minh City or another province — our tailors can visit their home or office (Home Tailoring).

Tuxedo or suit?

A tuxedo suits a formal evening reception; a suit is more versatile and can be worn to work afterwards. Many grooms choose one for the ceremony and one for the reception.

Our commitments

Making time3–10 days · rush from 24 hours

A made-to-measure suit is finished in 3–10 days depending on your requirements (style, cloth and whether you want a fitting); when time is short, Mon Amie can complete a suit in as little as 24 hours.

Rush ordersNo rush fee

Rush orders carry no extra charge. Only in exceptional emergencies, when our tailors must work overtime to meet your deadline, a 10–25% surcharge applies — your stylist will confirm it before accepting the order.

Payment50% upfront, the balance on collection

When you place an order, 50% of the order value is paid upfront; the remaining 50% is paid when you collect your garments. We accept cash, bank transfer to our company account and card payments (including cards issued abroad); every payment is confirmed with you directly by a Mon Amie staff member.

Warranty3-year free warranty

Free 3-year warranty: adjustments if your weight changes by 3–5 kg, plus repairs for lifted interfacing, lost buttons and seam failures. After three years we still carry out repairs for a small fee. Not covered: improper care (washing or drying incorrectly), snags and tears, burns from flames or cigarettes, and fading from chemicals or sunlight — we will still help put things right as best we can.

RefundsNot right? 100% refund

If your suit is not well made or not in the style agreed, Mon Amie will adjust it until you are satisfied; if it still falls short, we refund 100% of what you paid.
