What is a uniform?
A uniform expresses the tradition of a profession or an organization … The police, law enforcement, the army, healthcare … all have their own uniforms. For example, my school back then had a maritime tradition, so its uniform shirt looked somewhat like a sailor's outfit.

Uniforms help people feel closer to one another and recognize each other more easily, because besides belonging to the same organization, at the very least they are wearing the same shirt.
The downsides of wearing a uniform
Of course, many people do not like wearing a uniform because it does not fit their tastes and personality. Some who like youthful, casual jeans and T-shirts have to wear dress trousers and a shirt. Some who do not like blue have to wear a blue shirt … In general, wearing a uniform makes those who dislike it feel constrained.
Should you wear a uniform or not?
My personal view is that you should. Why: because of the meanings it carries. Wearing a traditional uniform means wearing the pride of the organization. In particular, it means carrying a sense of community, with no boundaries between people in their relationships.
As for the point that a uniform cannot express character or tastes, there is nothing to be done, because in the end rules exist everywhere. Character, personality and nature can be expressed through actions and words, not necessarily through what you are wearing.
