13 Rules for Wearing a Suit Properly, for Vietnamese Men
A suit, or veston, is certainly an indispensable piece in every gentleman's wardrobe. You can look energetic in a T-shirt and jeans, rugged in a jacket, strong in a tank top... but nothing makes you look more dapper and manly than a suit tailored to fit every centimetre of your body. That said, every "pastime" takes craft.
How do you wear a suit well?
And with a suit, or veston, there are hundreds of points to bear in mind to wear this elaborate garment well. Don't worry, though: master the following 15 principles and you can vary them in as many ways as you like to suit your own style, while still keeping to the most basic foundations of wearing a suit:

#1. A three-piece suit will often look rather "drab" and untidy if the waistcoat (the second layer) is not carefully made to measure and stops short at the belt.
#2. Always undo the button of your jacket when you sit down. Always, remember!
#3. When wearing a light-coloured suit, adding a dark accessory at the breast pocket will make your overall look far more balanced and polished.
#4. Never wear a sports watch with a suit. Instead, get yourself an elegant leather-strapped one.
#5. If you decide not to wear a tie the next time you wear a suit, make sure your shirt collar does not "flare" open too wide.
#6. A patterned coat worn over a neutral-coloured suit makes a great combination.
#7. A tie bar should never be as wide as the tie.
#8. Don't be put off by polka-dot shirts, because they will make you look younger and more energetic. But choose a moderate dot size: not too big, or you will look like a clown, and not too small, or no one will be able to see them clearly.
#9. Never fasten the bottom button of your jacket; let it hang loose with that elegant nonchalance.
#10. Never let your suit look "overloaded" by combining a lapel pin, a pocket square and a tie bar all at once.
#11. A bright, flamboyant tie should be paired with a refined shirt.
#12. The fabric of your suit should suit how often you wear it. If you always have to wear a suit to meetings and to see clients, choose a more everyday fabric.
#13. Pick stitching can be skilfully added to the lapel, where you wear a flower. By contrast, sloppy stitching will immediately spoil your whole refined look.
